a) Job Specification

An officer at this level shall report to Transport officer/Relevant Officer

b) Duties and Responsibilities

1. Carrying out routine maintenance the vehicle; Fitting new parts in motor vehicles and equipment as required;
2. Carrying out inspection and repairs of motor vehicles;
3. Overhauling of motor vehicles and equipment to the required standards;
4. Keeping repair costs and analysis as required;
5. Ensuring safe custody of spares, tools and equipment assigned; Initiating purchases of motor vehicle spare parts required for repairs;
6. Observing and complying with environmental, health and safety measures and regulations.
7. An officer at this level shall report to a senior officer

c) Person Specifications

1. O’ Level Division II or KCSE ‘C’ plain;
2. Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Option) or Mechanical Engineering Technician I1 certificate;
3. A minimum working experience of not less than five (5) years; Computer literacy.
4. Valid driver’s license
5. Proficiency in Computer applications
