DATA ENGINEER

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Data Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for expanding
and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing
data fl ow and collection for cross functional teams all the while being a data
pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and
building them from the ground up.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Working with stakeholders to understand needs in order with respect to
data structure, availability, scalability and accessibility.
• Supporting translation of business data needs into technical system
requirements.
• Extraction, transformation, loading and integration of data from various
sources.
• Identify, analyse, interpret and present trends or patterns in complex data
sets.
• Developing scripts to process structured and unstructured data.
• Designing, developing, testing and deploying back end software systems
and architectures, such as robust data-processing pipelines.
• Investigating and resolving technical issues by deploying updates/ fi xes.
• Recommending, developing and implementing ways to improve data
reliability, eff iciency and quality.
• Support our data team and software developers on data initiatives and
will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout
ongoing projects.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, business intelligence or related
fi elds.
• 2+ years of experience working with one or more languages commonly
used for data operations including SQL, Python and R.
• Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle
and MySQL.
• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as Mongo DB, Cosmos
DB.
SKILLS AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to stay self-motivated and
work with little or no supervision.
• Great numerical and analytical skills.

E-BUSINESS SUPPORT

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB.
Reporting to the Team Leader – New Enterprise Business, the incumbent will
be responsible for Selling e-business inventory; identifying clients, convincing
them of the benefi ts of e-business products and services and executing sales.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensuring that all business transactions are captured on time in the
appropriate ICT systems;
• Delivering invoices and statements to clients and follow-up regarding
payment terms;
• Liaising with Credit Control and clients regarding payment terms and
debt collection, and maintaining collection timelines;
• Maintaining close and eff ective contact with clients, and carrying out
necessary public relations initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction;
• Handling customer care compliments and complaints for e-business
related products and services;
• Ensuring that all calls are logged, resolved to customer satisfaction and
on time;
• Analyse incidences and report on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and
annually against plans as required;
• Driving e-commerce traff ic, social media presence using modern tools
and techniques;
• Monitor and analyse using appropriate analytic tools and report on traff ic
on e-commerce platforms;
• Liaison with Marketing department and designers to actualise
promotions;
• Liaison with the Commercial, Editorial and Technical teams to resolve
operational issues arising for the purpose of enhancing customer
experience and to achieve business targets.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in ICT, marketing, media, business, or an equivalent
from a recognised institution.
• 2-3 years’ work relevant work experience and deep understanding of
digital space.
• Use of modern analytic tools to increase traff ic and social media presence

READER REVENUE LEAD

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Reader Revenue Manager, the incumbent shall be responsible
for growing e-paper and website subscription through optimizing existing
subscriber acquisition processes, subscriber experience, conversion, price
testing, as well as improving retention and reducing churn.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Proactively identify content and experiences that fuel subscription
growth.
• Responsible for understanding customer, industry, and competitor
trends/behaviors and identify subscriber growth opportunities.
• Manage subscription campaign processes and schedules. Execute and
monitor marketing campaigns to drive subscriber and revenue growth on
e-paper and website subscription.
• Work closely with web developers to continuously improve paywall
funnel and subscriber experience.
• Work closely with developers to optimize subscription acquisition
processes and the paywall.
• Achieve superior subscriber engagement and intimacy, retention of
paying subscribers and revenue growth on reader revenue (e-Paper and
website subscription).
• Build and executing user-engagement strategies through audience
research.
• Setting up and optimizing subscriber email, SMS, push notifi cations and
social media engagement messages.
• Proofread the messages for clarity, grammar and spelling.
• Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate
social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the
information
• Develop communities around the group’s short-term and long-term
strategies.
• Work closely with web developers, data team, editorial, customer support
and Subscription growth lead to acquire and retain subscribers.
• Work closely with designers to improve the email templates using
graphics, personalization and advanced features.
• Analyze campaign performance and suggest improvement.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fi eld.
• 2-4 years’ experience in driving subscription growth and product
management.
• Experience in designing and executing subscription growth experiments
(Email, SMS, GDN and Social Media campaigns)
• Experience in website data analysis, marketing automation and analytics
